For years, this domain served exactly two bytes: OK. Time to do better.

I’m Florian — an engineer in Munich. By day I work on third-party apps in the automotive world; by night I run automotive-apps.com, a portfolio of Android Automotive apps that ship in production cars, built solo in Kotlin and Compose with self-hosted backends on a single Hetzner box.

This blog is where the writing that doesn’t fit a product page goes. Expect:

• Android Automotive — what building for cars is actually like, from Play Store quirks to head-unit testing.
• Solo-scale engineering — running apps, backends, and deploys as a one-person operation, increasingly with coding agents doing the typing.
• The occasional detour — espresso roasting, improv theatre, mountains.
